Job Description

Skills:
  • Must have prior orthodontic experience
  • Experience with medical imaging, such as digital radiography
  • Familiarity with dentrix systems
  • Strong assisting skills, including chairside assistance during procedures
  • Ability to maintain a clean and organized work environment
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Detail-oriented and able to follow instructions accurately
Responsibilities:
  • Assist the orthodontist in providing high-quality orthodontic care to patients
  • Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments
  • Take and develop dental radiographs (x-rays)
  • Document patient information and treatment plans in electronic medical records system
  • Assist with dental procedures, including placing and removing orthodontic appliances
  • Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and care for orthodontic appliances
  • Maintain strict infection control protocols and ensure aseptic technique is followed As an Orthodontic Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the orthodontist in providing exceptional patient care.
Your skills in medical documentation, imaging, coding, and dental software systems will be essential in ensuring accurate recordkeeping and efficient workflow. Your expertise in assisting during procedures, infection control, and aseptic technique will help maintain a safe and sterile environment for both patients and staff. Your knowledge of dental anatomy and oral health concepts will enable you to educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices.
