WHAT IT'S LIKE TO BE A CERTIFIED DIALYSIS TECHNICIAN
As a Certified Dialysis Technician, you can expect a fulfilling and structured daily routine that focuses on delivering high-quality patient care. Your responsibilities will include preparing and monitoring patients for dialysis treatments, ensuring equipment is functioning optimally, and maintaining a sterile environment. You'll engage with patients compassionately, providing support and education throughout their treatment. Your schedule will be full-time, five days a week rotating Saturdays, with Sundays off. You'll have the flexibility of AM and PM shift options, and your shifts can vary between 8, 10, or 12 hours. Overtime opportunities are also available, allowing you to maximize your working hours and experience. WHAT MATTERS MOST
To thrive as a Certified Dialysis Technician, candidates should possess a blend of technical knowledge and interpersonal skills. A High School Diploma or GED is required, along with current CCHT or CHT certification (Bonent or NNCC) and CPR certification. Previous experience in dialysis is required, ideally a minimum of three months, which will help you navigate the demands of the role with confidence. Proficiency in measuring and recording patient vitals, as well as in setting up, tearing down, and monitoring hemodialysis machines, is essential. Familiarity with EMR documentation systems, such as Clarity, will facilitate accurate patient records. A solid understanding of OSHA guidelines, infection control, and proper use of PPE ensures a safe working environment. Additionally, strong patient education and communication skills are vital for building trust and rapport with patients. Knowledge and skills required for the position are: High School Diploma or GED Current CCHT certification (Bonent or NNCC) Current CPR certification 3+ months dialysis experience (preferred) proficiency measuring and recording patient vitals hemodialysis machine setup/teardown and monitoring EMR documentation (e.g. Clarity) knowledge of OSHA/infection control/PPE ability to perform water testing and RO system maintenance patient education and communication skills
