Job Description

Job description Flint Hills Dialysis is growing and expanding and has full time positions available for Patient Care Technician (PCT) in dialysis in Marysville, KS. This is an excellent opportunity to expand your skills and be part of a rapidly growing company.
POSITION SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Clinic Manager, Charge Nurse or Staff Registered Nurse is responsible for the management of patients requiring dialysis treatments.
Reports to:
RN & Clinic Manager
PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITY
Manage dialysis treatments according to the orders given by the physician. Provide for the maintenance of Quality Control Program as directed. Assure that all pertinent documentation and paper work is accurate and complete. Participates in short and long range planning and goal setting for the department. Participates in mandatory bimonthly department meetings. Responsible to keep the RN fully informed. Completes special projects as assigned by the Clinical Supervisor or RN. Responsible for teaching patients aspects about their treatment and diet. Responsible for observing and assessing patient's status throughout the dialysis treatment. Completes all tasks as assigned. Compliance with all employers, policies and procedures. Cover unscheduled shifts as needed when other scheduled employee is unable to perform duties.
QUALIFICATIONS
High school education or equivalent.
Preferred experience with patient care:
CNA, CMA, LPN. PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS
Must be professional and well mannered with courtesy, tact, patience, prudence and a sense of understanding and compassion in working with patients, personnel and the public. Should be neat, clean and well groomed. Must be capable and willing to accept responsibility in the area of dialysis. Must have the ability to keep professional secrecy in confidential matters. Mental adaptability and memory is important. Emotional stability is important in contacts with patients, visitors and personnel. Must have the physical agility to move about the unit quickly. Must have eyesight that is equal to 20 /20 vision with or without correction and short acuity for continual assessment of patient and machine.
SKILLS:
Must have the ability to think and act calmly, logically and rapidly under stress. Must maintain dependability and promptness at all times. Must have a positive approach when dealing with associates and patients. Must be able to use intelligence and thought in arriving at decisions.
