Clinical Technician, Dialysis Location:
Detroit, MI 48202
Duration:
13+ weeks contract (Possible Extension)
Schedule Notes:
4:30 AM - 2:30 PM or 9:00 AM - 7:30
PM General Summary:
Under the supervision of nursing staff, provides direct care and monitoring of patients undergoing hemodialysis. Communicates patient status to appropriate team members and works as part of an interdisciplinary care team.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor patients during hemodialysis treatment and communicate updates to the care team Provide direct patient care under nursing supervision Respond to emergency situations Reinforce patient education and maintain accurate documentation Follow infection control policies and operational procedures Assist with dialysis machine setup, cannulation, disinfection, and blood draw procedures Administer saline, heparin, and related dialysis medications under physician order and nursing supervision Maintain a safe, clean, and compliant work environment Collaborate effectively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams Education High School Diploma or GED required. Associate Degree in Science preferred. Experience Minimum 3 years of dialysis experience required. Must be able to independently perform dialysis treatments and "flip pods" with RN oversight. Certifications Current BLS Certification required. Current CCHT (Certified Clinical Hemodialysis Technician) Certification required. Must successfully pass medication calculation and dialysis competency exams during orientation. #
