DIALYSIS PATIENT CARE TECHNICIAN
to join our
DIALYSIS
team! Member of the patient care team responsible for the dual role of assisting with providing patient care duties and performing clerical, reception, and communication duties under the general direction of a Registered Nurse.
HOURS:
Occasional 0.01 FTE, Hours and Shifts as Needed Experience/Qualifications Knowledge of patient care standards and practices normally acquired through completion of a High School diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Completion of a nursing assistant course beneficial. Graduation from an accredited program for Health Unit Coordinators, or training/education to meet job requirements beneficial. One year of experience as a nursing assistant in an acute care setting beneficial. CCHT (Certified Clinical Hemodialysis Tech) certification or obtained within 18 months of hire. This includes continuing education credits/CEUs needed to maintain applicable certification. Current BLS certification or obtained within 90 days of hire - All clinical personnel in identified job codes are required to maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) training through independent study, online manikin and knowledge testing. An acceptable training program is the Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider course from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross Professional Rescuer Program with AED. (See Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Training Policy). Demonstrates a working knowledge of principles of aseptic techniques. Possesses knowledge and ability to implement emergency, fire, and disaster protocols. Possesses knowledge and ability to implement safe and effective infection control procedures in accordance with the unit's policies and procedures. Possesses knowledge of and utilizes the occurrence reporting system in accordance with guidelines set forth by the unit. Demonstrates competence in basic computer skills.
