Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dietary Aide to join our team in a hospital setting. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting the dietary department by assisting with food preparation, ensuring cleanliness, and providing exceptional customer service to patients. This position is essential for maintaining the quality of meals served and ensuring compliance with dietary guidelines. Responsibilities Assist in the preparation and serving of meals according to established menus and dietary restrictions. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the kitchen and dining areas. Support food production processes, including portioning, plating, and serving meals. Collaborate with the dietary department to ensure all food items are stored properly and labeled correctly. Provide excellent customer service by interacting positively with patients and staff regarding meal preferences and dietary needs. Follow safety protocols while handling food and kitchen equipment. Participate in training sessions to stay updated on best practices in food service and nutrition. Requirements Knowledge or experience in dietetics or food service is preferred. Familiarity with sanitation practices related to food preparation and handling. Previous experience in a hospital or healthcare environment is a plus. Strong time management skills to efficiently handle multiple tasks during meal service periods. Ability to work collaboratively within a team setting while also being self-motivated. Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with patients, staff, and other departments. A commitment to providing high-quality service while adhering to dietary guidelines.
