Dietary Aide (Full-Time) Oakwood Gardens Care Center -
Fresno, CA Pay Range:
$17.48 - $17.50/hour (BOE) Join Our Team! Oakwood Gardens Care Center is seeking a reliable and team-oriented Dietary Aide to join our dietary department. If you enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and take pride in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming dining experience for residents, we encourage you to apply! General Purpose The Dietary Aide assists in meal preparation, service, and maintaining cleanliness of the kitchen and dining areas. Assignments are determined based on the needs and activity of the shift. This position reports to the Cook and Dietary Supervisor. Essential Duties
  • Learn and follow established food service routines
  • Set up and deliver meal trays to residents
  • Clear and strip returned trays; wash dishes and utensils
  • Assist with serving meals and snacks
  • Operate dishwasher and monitor water temperatures and sanitation levels
  • Prepare nourishments and snacks as directed
  • Sweep, mop, and maintain cleanliness of kitchen and dining areas
  • Dispose of trash and garbage properly
  • Store groceries in a safe, clean, and organized manner
  • Clean work surfaces, refrigerators, and equipment
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment at all times
  • Assist cook or dietary supervisor as needed
  • Participate in orientation and ongoing training
  • Work cooperatively with all departments and staff Supervisory Responsibilities This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications Education and/or
Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Skills & Abilities:
  • Ability to read and follow recipes and procedures
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic math skills and problem-solving ability
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
  • Must obtain and maintain a valid Food Handler's Certificate Physical Demands
  • Frequent standing and walking
  • Frequent pushing, pulling, and reaching
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, or crouching
  • Frequent use of hands and arms Work Environment This position operates in a kitchen setting with a moderate noise level.
