In this vital role, you will assist in preparing and serving nutritious meals, maintaining a clean and safe dining environment, and supporting the dietary department's daily operations. Your positive attitude and attention to detail will help create a warm, welcoming atmosphere for residents and staff alike. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop culinary skills and gain valuable experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or healthcare settings. Responsibilities Assist with food preparation, meal assembly, and portioning to ensure timely service Serve meals to residents with kindness and professionalism, adhering to dietary guidelines and safety standards Maintain cleanliness of dining areas, kitchen surfaces, utensils, and food handling equipment through proper sanitation practices Support food handling procedures in accordance with food safety regulations to prevent contamination Follow established protocols for meal delivery, tray setup, and resident dietary needs Collaborate with the culinary team to ensure all dietary requirements are met efficiently and accurately Qualifications Previous experience in food service, food production, or dietary assistance preferred; experience in assisted living or nursing home environments is a plus Knowledge of food handling safety practices and sanitation standards Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced setting Excellent customer service skills with a caring attitude towards residents and team members Ability to follow detailed instructions related to meal preparation and dietary guidelines Kitchen or culinary experience is advantageous but not required; on-the-job training will be provided
Hours:
PRN / as‑needed position to cover call‑offs, vacations, and high‑census days Flexible scheduling with varying shifts, including weekends and holidays Join us in creating a positive dining experience that promotes health, comfort, and well-being for our residents.
