Join our team at Griffith Centers and help transform lives! We are seeking a Culinary Specialist to join our team on a PRN basis. As a PRN employee, you will work on a "as needed" basis to cover shifts, peak volume, and staff absences.
What We Offer :
Base pay of $20.00/hr Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) qualified employer. Colorado Sick Leave Participation in our 403b retirement plan. Employee Assistance Program - available to employee and family members. Bi-weekly pay; 26 pay periods in a calendar year.
Responsibilities :
Prepare and serve meals and snacks in accordance with posted menus and dietary guidelines. Order necessary supplies (e.g., food, cleaning products) following established procedures and guidelines. Follow standardized recipes to ensure consistency and quality in food preparation. Utilize approved cooking methods to preserve the nutrient content of foods prepared. Store leftovers appropriately, ensuring proper labeling and making provisions for future use. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the Dietary Department and storage areas, adhering to sanitation standards. Follow scheduled cleaning routines and assignments to ensure a hygienic and safe environment. Monitor kitchen equipment and report any issues or malfunctions to the Food Service Supervisor promptly. Check invoices against deliveries and sign for received supplies as assigned, ensuring accurate inventory management
Qualifications :
1-2 years of experience in food preparation, serving, and clean-up. Experience working in and around a busy kitchen environment. Strong focus on food safety and workplace sanitation standards. Ability to cooperate effectively with staff and residents, communicate clearly, and follow supervisor's instructions. Ability to maintain appropriate boundaries and maintain a level of professionalism. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while managing multiple priorities. Ability to work with sensitivity to the cultural and/or socioeconomic diversity of the agency's clients and staff. Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and trust. Valid driver's license or the ability to obtain one with a clean motor vehicle record. Must successfully complete a comprehensive background screening as a condition of employment, in accordance with Colorado Department of Human Services regulations for childcare facilities. This screening includes initial and ongoing state criminal background checks, fingerprinting, sex offender registry searches, and abuse and neglect clearances. If the employee has lived in any other state within the past five years, equivalent background and abuse/neglect checks from those states will also be conducted. In addition, employees are required to complete a health evaluation or physical examination prior to beginning service to confirm fitness for duty, and annually thereafter.
