South Valley Post Acute is seeking a compassionate and reliable Part-Time Dietary Aide to join our culinary services team. In this role, you will work closely with our cooks and nursing staff to provide nutritious, appealing meals to our residents in a warm, welcoming environment. This is an entry-level position with excellent on-the-job training provided.
What You Will Do Meal Assembly & Service:
Assist the cook with basic food preparation, set up resident tray lines, and portion meals according to specific portion controls.
Dietary Accuracy:
Review tray cards to ensure every resident receives the correct meal matching their specific therapeutic diets, allergen profiles, and food restrictions.
Tray Delivery:
Deliver meal trays and beverages to resident dining rooms and individual rooms with a friendly, respectful attitude.
Sanitation & Cleanup:
Wash dishes, pots, pans, and kitchen utensils using proper chemical sanitizing procedures. Clean and sanitize counters, tables, and dining equipment after meal periods.
Inventory Support:
Assist in stocking food deliveries and organizing storage areas.
Waste Management:
Remove trash from the kitchen area to the dumpsters safely.
What We Are Looking For Education:
Minimum of an 8th-grade education or high school equivalency.
Experience:
Food service, restaurant, or hospitality experience is preferred but not required. We will fully train you!
Key Skills:
Strong communication, active teamwork, and an eye for detail.
Compassionate Mindset:
A genuine love for seniors and the patience to interact kindly with elderly or cognitively impaired residents.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to [e.g., 30-50] pounds for the duration of a shift.
Compliance:
Must pass a standard healthcare background screening prior to start.
