Job Summary We are seeking a reliable, dedicated and energetic Food Tray Passer to join our dietary team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for efficiently delivering prepared meals and snacks to residents, patients, or guests in a timely and courteous manner. Your positive attitude and attention to detail will ensure that everyone receives their food safely, accurately, and with excellent customer service. This position offers an engaging opportunity to contribute to a caring environment where quality food service is a top priority. All positions are paid, including internships, and this role provides a chance to develop foundational skills in food handling and hospitality. Responsibilities Safely transport food trays from the kitchen or food production area to designated dining or resident areas. Ensure that each tray is correctly assembled with the appropriate meal items according to dietary guidelines or menu specifications. Serve food in a friendly, professional manner while maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards. Assist with cleaning and sanitizing trays, carts, and work areas regularly to uphold food safety regulations. Support meal delivery by bussing tables, clearing used trays, and helping maintain a tidy dining environment. Follow proper food handling procedures to prevent contamination and ensure safe serving practices. Communicate effectively with kitchen staff, dietary aides, nursing staff, or supervisors regarding meal timing or special dietary needs. Skills Previous experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or the food industry is highly desirable. Knowledge of food production, preparation, and service operations. Strong time management skills to deliver meals promptly across multiple locations. Familiarity with dietary department procedures and food safety protocols. Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanor. Ability to handle food safely, including proper sanitation and cleaning practices.
