In this vital role, you will prepare and serve nutritious meals, assist with food handling and sanitation, and support the dietary department's mission to deliver exceptional food service in a compassionate environment. Your energy and attention to detail will ensure that every meal is served safely, efficiently, and with care. Responsibilities Prepare, cook, and assemble meals according to dietary guidelines and residents' preferences, ensuring high-quality food production. Assist with food handling, sanitation, cleaning, and maintaining a safe kitchen environment in compliance with food safety standards. Serve meals to residents or patients in a timely manner while providing friendly customer service and attentive support. Support the dietary department by bussing tables, cleaning food preparation areas, and ensuring proper sanitation procedures are followed. Follow proper food safety protocols during meal preparation, storage, and serving to prevent contamination or spoilage. Help with inventory management by receiving supplies, rotating stock, and notifying supervisors of shortages or issues. Collaborate with nursing staff and other team members to meet the nutritional needs of residents in assisted living, nursing homes, or hospital settings. Skills Proven experience in food production, food handling, or culinary roles within assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals or the food industry. Strong knowledge of food safety practices, sanitation standards, and proper kitchen procedures. Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently during busy meal times. Ability to follow detailed recipes and dietary guidelines accurately while maintaining high standards of quality. Customer service-oriented mindset with the ability to communicate effectively with residents and team members. Familiarity with meal preparation techniques and kitchen equipment used in large-scale food service environments.
