Job Description

Cumming Health & Rehab is currently seeking an experienced Dietary Cook/Aide to join our team. Dietary Cooks support the health and nutrition of residents by assisting with food preparation services while upholding strict sanitation and safe handling procedures.
Responsibilities:
The Dietary Cook is responsible for preparing and providing food services to residents in a cost-efficient manner to safely meet residents' need in compliance with federal, state and local requirements
Dietary Cook Major Duties and Critical Tasks:
Prepare and serve meals for residents and staff in accordance with food safety regulations and within physician's/nutritionists' dietary recommendations Maintain high standard of food preparation, sanitation, storage, and portion control Determine food and supplies needed for daily menus; obtain supplies in time for adequate production Plan food production to coordinate with meal serving hours so that quality, temperature, and appearance of food is preserved Assist in scheduled cleaning duties following established sanitary standards
Dietary Cook Other Duties:
Participates and assists in departmental studies and projects as assigned or as may become necessary Represents the facility at and participates in meetings as required Assists in standardizing work methods As the job description may not be all-inclusive, the employee is expected to perform other essential functions and duties as assigned Skills
  • Knowledge of food production techniques and practices in a professional kitchen setting
  • Familiarity with food industry standards and regulations for safe food handling and sanitation
  • Ability to follow recipes and dietary guidelines to prepare meals that meet specific nutritional requirements
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate portioning and presentation of meals
  • Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Effective communication skills to work collaboratively with other kitchen staff members
