Dietary Clerk AHS Vista LLC Waukegan, IL Job Details Full-time $20 - $25 an hour 1 day ago Benefits Dental insurance 401(k) Vision insurance Qualifications High school diploma or GED Full Job Description The Dietary Clerk is responsible for assisting with the preparation and delivery of food services to patients, visitors, and staff at Vista Medical Center. This position involves maintaining accurate patient meal records, assisting in meal planning and ordering, ensuring dietary restrictions are met, and supporting the overall operations of the nutrition services department.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the preparation and distribution of patient meal orders, ensuring adherence to dietary restrictions, preferences, and physician instructions. Maintain and update patient meal records, including tracking allergies, special diets, and food preferences. Provide support to the dietary team by organizing food items, restocking, and managing inventory as needed. Answer phone calls and take meal orders from patients or staff, ensuring that all information is accurately recorded. Collaborate with nursing and other healthcare teams to ensure accurate delivery of meals according to each patient's medical needs. Maintain a clean and organized work area, following health and safety regulations. Prepare and deliver meals to patient rooms or other areas as requested. Assist in the review and maintenance of food safety standards, ensuring that all items are handled and stored appropriately. Assist with monthly inventory counts and report discrepancies to the Dietary Manager. Help with preparing menu plans and updating meal orders as required. Address any patient complaints or concerns about meals and report issues to the appropriate team members.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent required. Previous experience in food service or nutrition services preferred. Knowledge of basic food safety and sanitation practices. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds. Must be able to stand, walk, and perform various tasks for extended periods.
