Job Description
Ottawa County Health Center is seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Dietary Aide to join our team. In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting the health and well-being of our patients and residents by assisting with meal preparation, tray assembly, and food service in accordance with individual dietary orders and safety standards. Duties & Responsibilities Assist with preparing and serving meals, snacks, salads, and desserts according to posted menus and patient dietary requirements Assemble and verify meal trays to ensure accuracy with prescribed diet orders, allergies, and texture modifications Monitor and record food temperatures; follow proper food storage, labeling, and handling procedures in compliance with HACCP standards Deliver meals to patients/residents and interact with them in a courteous, caring manner Collect, wash, and return dishes, trays, and utensils to proper storage areas Maintain a clean, organized, sanitary kitchen and dining environment Collaborate with dietary staff, nurses, and dietitians to meet individual patient nutritional needs Perform other duties as assigned by the Dietary Supervisor Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required Previous experience in a dietary department, food service, or healthcare setting preferred Food Handler certification required (or ability to obtain upon hire) Knowledge of safe food handling practices and regulations Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions accurately Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to work effectively as part of a team Physical ability to lift 35-50 lbs., stand for extended periods, and push/maneuver carts in a busy environment Why Join Us?
