Shreveport, LA Job Details 1 hour ago Qualifications Nutrition Serving Food handling Customer communication Customer service Labeling Dishwashing Infection control High school diploma or GED Sanitation procedures Meal preparation Food preparation Stocking Clean workspace maintenance Communication skills Entry level Full Job Description The Dietary Aide supports the food service team in preparing and serving nutritious meals to residents in a nursing home setting. This role ensures that residents receive meals that meet dietary requirements while maintaining high standards of cleanliness, safety, and customer service. Assist with the preparation and portioning of meals according to prescribed diets Serve meals and beverages to residents in dining areas or resident rooms Set up and break down dining areas, including tables and serving stations Follow special dietary instructions (e.g., low-sodium, diabetic, pureed diets) Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen and dining areas in compliance with health regulations Store food properly and label items according to facility policies Interact respectfully with residents, accommodating their needs and preferences Assist in stocking supplies and reporting inventory needs Follow all safety, infection control, and food handling procedures High school diploma or equivalent preferred Previous food service or healthcare experience is a plus but not required Basic understanding of food safety and sanitation practices Ability to follow written and verbal instructions Strong communication and interpersonal skills
