Job Description

Position Title:
Staff Dietary Aide Summary:
Carroll Park Healthcare is looking for someone energetic to fill a dietary aide role in a skilled nursing facility setting. Duties may include, but not limited to: Assisting in identified aspects of food preparation Handling food and equipment responsibly according to sanitation policies and procedures Delivering food carts, trays, etc. to designated areas as instructed by supervisor Providing an enhanced dining service, serving meals in dining rooms and preparing and delivering snacks as directed Assisting in daily or scheduled cleaning duties in accordance with established policies and procedures The dietary aide is responsible for cleanliness of work areas, sanitary handling of food, equipment, and utensils and for processing the requests of residents accurately. Above all, ensuring that residents and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere which recognizes rights
Requirements:
High School Diploma/GED Required Safe-Serve Certification Required Previous food service aide experience is helpful Possess working knowledge of the methods and techniques of handling and serving food and sanitation practices relating to food handling Ability to follow diet lists, portion food as specified and serve food in an appetizing manner Possess the ability to positively interact with everyone from residents to government agencies and the general public Effective verbal and written English communication skills.
Physical Requirements:
Push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of fifty (50) pounds to a minimum height of three (3) feet and be able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of fifty (50) feet, stand on feet for more than 6 hours a day. (Not a complete list)
Preferred Skills:
Dietary experience in a long-term care setting preferred, but not required.
