NOW HIRING
Dietary Aide (Long-Term Care) We are seeking a reliable and compassionate Dietary Aide to join our long-term care dietary team. This position plays an important role in supporting daily meal service, kitchen sanitation, and resident dining needs. The ideal candidate is dependable, team-oriented, and committed to providing respectful and high-quality service to residents.
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Dietary Aide assists with food preparation, meal service, tray delivery, and kitchen cleaning duties. This role helps ensure residents receive safe, nutritious meals in a clean and supportive environment in accordance with dietary guidelines and facility standards. This position works under the direction of the Food Service Director or designated supervisor.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist with preparation of meals, beverages, and snacks Assemble and organize meal trays according to diet orders Deliver and retrieve meal trays and food carts from resident areas Ensure accurate labeling and distribution of nourishments Maintain cleanliness of kitchen, dining, and food service areas throughout shift Wash, sanitize, and store dishes, utensils, and equipment properly Follow portioning, diet restrictions, and special dietary instructions Support daily kitchen operations as needed
FOOD SAFETY & SANITATION
Follow all infection control and food safety procedures at all times Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary work environment Properly handle, store, and dispose of food items per regulations Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required Report safety hazards, equipment issues, or sanitation concerns promptly
TEAMWORK & COMMUNICATION
Work cooperatively with dietary staff and leadership Communicate resident needs or concerns to supervisors Support a respectful and positive dining experience for residents Assist with facility inspections and in-service training when required
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Follow all facility policies and procedures Report injuries, incidents, or concerns immediately Participate in training, drills, and emergency preparedness activities Assist with resident support during emergencies if needed Maintain confidentiality of resident information
REQUIREMENTS
Previous food service or healthcare experience preferred, but not required Ability to follow instructions and work in a team environment Strong attention to cleanliness and detail Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Must be able to communicate effectively in English High school diploma or equivalent preferred
SCHEDULE
Full-time and part-time positions available Includes weekends and holidays as needed Flexible shifts based on facility needs
