The dietary team plays an important role in resident satisfaction by helping prepare, serve, and deliver meals while maintaining a clean and safe kitchen and dining environment. Position Summary Pomeroy Living Northville is seeking compassionate, dependable, and dedicated Dietary Aides to join its culinary and dining services team. Dietary Aides assist with meal preparation, dining room setup, meal service, dishwashing, sanitation, and kitchen organization. This position is a good fit for candidates who enjoy working with seniors, helping others, working as part of a team, and supporting a positive dining experience for residents. Prior food service experience is preferred but not required. Key Responsibilities Assist with meal preparation as assigned by the supervisor. Set up dining areas, trays, and meal service stations. Serve meals to residents in a professional and respectful manner. Ensure meals are delivered accurately according to resident needs and instructions. Assist residents during meal service as appropriate. Clean and sanitize dishes, utensils, trays, carts, and kitchen equipment. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen and dining environment. Follow food safety, sanitation, and infection control procedures. Assist with stocking supplies and organizing kitchen or dining areas. Communicate professionally with residents, coworkers, supervisors, and other departments. Report meal concerns, resident needs, or safety issues to the appropriate supervisor. Follow company policies, safety procedures, and confidentiality expectations. Perform additional dietary or kitchen support duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Compassionate and caring demeanor required. Strong communication and interpersonal skills required. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds required. Prior food service experience preferred but not required. Must be dependable, respectful, and professional. Must be able to work well independently and as part of a team. Must be able to follow instructions from supervisors. Must be able to follow food safety and sanitation guidelines. Must be able to complete required onboarding, background checks, and training. Preferred Qualifications Experience in food service, dietary services, senior living, assisted living, healthcare, cafeteria, restaurant, hospitality, or customer service. Experience serving seniors or individuals in a care setting. Knowledge of safe food handling and sanitation practices. ServSafe or food handler training helpful but not required unless requested by employer. Strong attention to detail and ability to support accurate meal delivery. Ability to remain friendly, patient, and professional during meal service. Schedule and Hours Schedules may vary based on meal service needs, kitchen operations, and facility staffing.

Physical and Work Environment Requirements This position requires working in a kitchen, dining room, and senior living environment.
Candidates should be able to:
Stand and walk for extended periods during the shift. Lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds. Bend, reach, and move kitchen or dining supplies as needed. Work around food preparation areas, dishwashing areas, carts, and kitchen equipment. Follow safe food handling and sanitation procedures. Maintain a clean and organized work area.
