Position Summary:
This position is responsible for preparing nutritious meals according to dietary guidelines, assisting with kitchen operations, and ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming dining environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food service, a team-oriented attitude, and a commitment to serving others.
Key Responsibilities:
Assists with resident food service needs and comforts including but not limited to: Set up and serve meals in dining areas or patient rooms as needed. Assist with dishwashing, cleaning, and sanitizing kitchen tools and equipment. Help plate and portion food according to resident or patient dietary needs. Monitor food stock and report shortages or issues to the kitchen supervisor. Provide friendly, respectful service to residents, patients, and staff. Assist with meal preparation, ensuring food is prepared and served at proper temperatures and in appropriate portions. Follow established safety and infection control regulations and policies. Report disrepair of kitchen and dietary appliances, equipment, etc. Observe, note and report changes in resident eating habits, especially those on a specialized diet.
Required Skills:
Ability to operate cooking and food preparation equipment. Understanding of proper food handling and sanitation procedures. Ability to relate positively, effectively, and respectfully with residents/patients, families, volunteers, and other center staff. Shows dependability by being punctual; maintains consistent attendance.
Other Requirements :
Position may require unscheduled overtime and weekend availability Must be willing and able to work flexible hours Minimum completion of tenth (10th) grade in high school

Physical ability to lift 20+ lbs
Pay:
From $14.50 per hour
