Job Description
Overview Join our vibrant team as a Cook/Dietary Aide and play a vital role in delivering nutritious, delicious meals to our residents in assisted living, nursing home, or hospital settings. This dynamic position combines culinary expertise with compassionate service, ensuring that each resident's dietary needs are met with care and professionalism. You'll be an essential part of creating a warm, welcoming environment where health and happiness are prioritized through quality food service and meticulous food safety standards. Duties Prepare and cook meals according to dietary guidelines, menus, and safety standards, ensuring timely delivery of nutritious dishes. Assist with food production tasks such as chopping, portioning, plating, and serving meals to residents and staff. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen and dining areas by following proper cleaning, sanitation, and food handling procedures. Support the dietary department by bussing tables, cleaning utensils, and ensuring proper food storage practices are followed. Help with meal setup, serving residents with friendly customer service that promotes dignity and respect. Follow all food safety regulations to prevent contamination and ensure compliance with health standards. Collaborate with team members to manage time efficiently during busy meal periods while maintaining high-quality service. Skills Experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or the food industry is highly preferred. Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and food handling safety protocols. Proven ability to manage time effectively in fast-paced environments while maintaining attention to detail. Familiarity with dietary requirements specific to healthcare settings or special diets such as diabetic or low-sodium menus. Excellent customer service skills with a compassionate approach toward residents' needs. Ability to follow detailed instructions for meal preparation and sanitation procedures accurately. Kitchen experience including meal prep, sanitation practices, serving techniques, and basic culinary skills.
