Job Description

Job Summary Join our dedicated dietary team as a Dietary Aide/Cook, where you will play a vital role in providing nutritious, delicious meals to residents in assisted living, nursing homes, or similar healthcare environments. This energetic position combines food preparation, service, and sanitation duties to ensure a positive dining experience for residents while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and cleanliness. Your culinary skills and compassionate customer service will help create a warm, welcoming atmosphere that promotes health and well-being. Responsibilities Prepare and cook meals according to dietary guidelines, menus, and safety standards, ensuring timely delivery of nutritious dishes. Assist with food handling, serving, and bussing to support efficient meal service in a fast-paced environment. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen areas, utensils, and dining spaces by following proper cleaning procedures. Support the dietary department by managing food storage, inventory, and proper food handling practices to minimize waste. Collaborate with team members to ensure accurate meal portioning and presentation that meets residents' dietary needs. Follow all food safety regulations and sanitation protocols to uphold hygiene standards in compliance with health department guidelines. Provide excellent customer service by engaging positively with residents and responding to their dietary preferences or special requests. Requirements Previous experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or the food industry is highly preferred. Demonstrated culinary experience with skills in food preparation, cooking, and meal assembly. Knowledge of food safety practices, sanitation procedures, and proper food handling techniques. Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently during busy meal times. Ability to work collaboratively within a team while maintaining a positive attitude. Experience in dietary aide roles or dietary department operations is advantageous. Familiarity with serving residents or customers in a healthcare or food service setting is beneficial.
