POSITION STANDARDS
Must be able to read recipes, inventory lists, menus and food or chemical labels. Must be able to perform basic math skills to make change and to meet par stocks. Must be able to answer the telephone and communicate clear messages.
POSITION PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to stand for 90% of shift. Ability to manaeuver in a small area to accomplish food preparation functions. Must be able to work in a warm, humid environment as well as refrigerated walk-in coolers and freezers. Must be able to push food carts.
PART TWO
FUNCTIONAL
RESPONSIBILITY
Position Objective To prepare meals and snacks in the Coffee Shop for employees and visitors, as well as perform kitchen nutrition aide duties when required. Performance Expectation Prepares and serves a variety of breakfast and lunch items daily to employees and visitors including the weekly "cook-out"(Thursday). Must be able to read and write effectively to post and read menus. Flexibility and creativity in menu planning is necessary. Utilization of product to limit waste. Is responsible for all cash transactions (including Auxiliary baked goods) and cashing out daily. Must be able to perform basic math skills to make change and total cash daily. Adheres to the department's infection control policy to maintain sanitary food preparation, storage and serving areas. Documents dishwasher and cooler temperatures. Keeps food out of the "danger zone." Maintains a pleasant, welcoming atmosphere for staff and visitors. Diplomacy skills are required. Personnel problems are reported to either the Department Manager or Human Resources. Keeps counter and seating area as clean as time allows.
