In this vital role, you will be responsible for preparing nutritious, appealing meals for residents while providing exceptional dietary support. Responsibilities Prepare and cook meals according to dietary guidelines, menus, and resident preferences, ensuring high-quality food production. Assist with food handling, serving, and bussing to maintain efficient meal service during busy weekend shifts. Follow strict sanitation and sanitation protocols to uphold food safety standards and ensure a clean kitchen environment. Support the dietary department by assisting with food preparation, portioning, and packaging for residents. Maintain proper food storage and inventory management to prevent waste and ensure freshness. Collaborate with nursing staff to accommodate special dietary needs and restrictions for residents. Perform cleaning duties within the kitchen area, including sanitizing surfaces, utensils, and equipment regularly. Qualifications Previous experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or the food industry is highly preferred. Strong background in food production, meal preparation, and culinary techniques. Knowledge of food safety procedures, sanitation standards, and proper food handling practices. Excellent time management skills to efficiently prepare meals within scheduled times. Experience working in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is advantageous. Ability to work weekends consistently while maintaining a positive attitude and strong work ethic. Basic understanding of dietetics or nutrition principles related to elderly care is a plus.
