Job Description

Occasional Hours 3:15 PM - 6:15
PM Overview:
The Dietary Aide Is responsible for basic food production, clean-up, and customer service to the Sisters, staff, and visitors of the Assisi House.
Essential Functions:
Food Services Related
  • Assists with assembling foods for serving.
  • Works on the tray line.
  • Provides waiter/waitress style service in the dining room, and the remote serving areas and/or Clare Hall. Takes food trays to residents with their meal selection. Serves the residents beverages. Removes food trays from their tables when they are finished.
  • Completes and fills out all daily documents required for each position of the department as instructed, i.e. Sign Out/In Logs, Cleaning Assignment Sheets, etc.
  • Performs daily cleaning assignment and maintains work areas in a clean and safe manner routinely throughout the day.
  • Operates and cleans equipment such as steam table, salad bar, coffee warmers, can opener, coffee urn, foods trucks, etc.
  • Operates the dish machine and assures that the machine is kept clean.
  • Washes tables, chairs, and any items used in service in the dining room after each meal service.
  • Stores clean dishes, pots and utensils in proper areas.
  • Assists with taking Sisters back to their rooms after meals, as needed.
  • Adheres to the departmental schedules, break schedules, and policies of the Assisi House. Arrives at work on time and when scheduled.
  • Works at the special events of the facility including Sisters' Jubilees, Theme Days, Employee Appreciation Days, Holidays, etc.
  • Works as a team player assisting co-workers.
  • Maintains confidentiality related to the Sisters and employee information.
  • Communicates effectively and appropriately with residents, co-workers and managers.
  • Promotes a customer service approach when interacting with others. Qualifications
  • A minimum of 6 months of experience in the food industry.
  • Is able to support the mission and values of the Sisters of St. Francis.
  • Is able to work every other weekend.
  • Is able to effectively communicate verbally with residents, co-workers, managers and visitors.
  • Has excellent interpersonal skills.
Is able to collaborate and work effectively with residents, co-workers and volunteers, and assist in other areas of the kitchen operation. Treats all individuals with dignity and respect.
Physical Requirements Ability to:
  • Lift a minimum of 25 pounds using good body mechanics.
  • Tolerate long periods of standing, walking, bending and sitting.
  • Perform repetitive motions to complete the demands of the job.
  • Move around throughout the day.
Pay:
From $15.00 per hour
