Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dietary Aide/Dietary Cook (dual role) to join our team in providing nutritious and appealing meals for residents in our personal care home. This role involves assisting with food preparation, serving, and maintaining high standards of food safety and sanitation. The ideal candidate will have experience in food production, food service, or dietary departments, with a strong focus on customer service and meal quality. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to the well-being of residents while working in a supportive and professional environment. Duties Prepare and serve meals according to dietary guidelines and resident preferences Assist with food handling, cooking, and meal preparation in accordance with safety standards Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen and dining areas through cleaning, bussing, and proper sanitation procedures Ensure proper food storage, labeling, and inventory management Support dietary department operations by assisting with meal delivery and setup Follow all food safety protocols to prevent contamination and ensure a safe dining environment Provide excellent customer service by attending to residents' needs during meal times Assist with general kitchen duties including dishwashing, cleaning utensils, and maintaining a sanitary environment Qualifications Experience in assisted living, nursing home, hospital, or the food industry is preferred Previous dietary aide or culinary experience is highly desirable Knowledge of food production, food handling, sanitation, and safety regulations Strong time management skills to efficiently prepare and serve meals within scheduled times Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment Excellent communication skills and a friendly demeanor for resident interaction Basic knowledge of dietetics or familiarity with dietary guidelines is a plus Ability to follow detailed instructions for meal preparation and presentation Food service or catering experience is advantageous but not required This role is vital in ensuring residents receive nutritious meals in a clean, safe, and welcoming environment.
