Responsibilities Assess participants' nutritional needs by reviewing medical histories and dietary preferences. Develop and implement individualized nutrition plans in coordination with healthcare teams. Educate participants, caregivers, and their families on proper food choices, dietary restrictions, and meal planning. Monitor food intake and adjust dietary recommendations to ensure optimal health outcomes. Collaborate with culinary staff to ensure meal preparation aligns with nutritional guidelines and safety standards. Maintain accurate documentation of nutritional assessments, care plans, and progress notes. Promote food safety, sanitation, and proper food handling practices within the dietary department. Requirements Experience working in home care, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or the food industry is highly preferred. Strong background in food production, food service, or culinary experience with a focus on nutrition. Knowledge of dietary department operations including meal preparation, serving, cleaning, and sanitation protocols. Excellent time management skills to coordinate multiple responsibilities efficiently. Familiarity with food handling regulations and food safety standards. Previous dietary aide or food service experience is advantageous. Ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations and provide customer service that emphasizes empathy and professionalism.
