Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dietary Aide to join our team in providing exceptional food service in our assisted living and nursing home facilities. The Dietary Aide will play a crucial role in ensuring that residents receive nutritious meals that meet their dietary needs while also maintaining a pleasant dining experience. This position requires a strong commitment to food safety and customer service, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment. Responsibilities Assist in the preparation and serving of meals according to established dietary guidelines and resident preferences. Ensure compliance with food safety standards during food handling, preparation, and storage. Help maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and dining areas, including washing dishes and sanitizing surfaces. Support the dietary team in menu planning and food production processes. Provide excellent customer service by interacting positively with residents during meal times, addressing any concerns or special requests. Assist with inventory management, including ordering supplies and tracking food usage. Collaborate with nursing staff to ensure that residents' dietary restrictions are adhered to effectively. Participate in training sessions related to food safety, dietary practices, and customer service. Requirements Previous experience in food handling or preparation is preferred; knowledge of dietetics is a plus. Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff. Familiarity with assisted living or nursing home environments is advantageous. Understanding of food safety regulations and best practices in food production. Excellent time management skills to efficiently complete tasks within designated timelines. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being self-motivated when required. A compassionate attitude towards helping others, particularly the elderly population.
