The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the dietary department by assisting in meal preparation, food production, and ensuring that residents receive nutritious and appealing meals. This position requires a strong commitment to food handling safety and an understanding of dietary needs for various health conditions. Responsibilities Assist in the preparation and serving of meals according to established menus and dietary guidelines. Ensure that all food handling practices comply with health and safety regulations. Help with the bussing of tables and cleaning of dining areas post-meal service. Maintain cleanliness and organization within the kitchen and dietary department. Support cooks and other kitchen staff in food production tasks as needed. Monitor food inventory levels and assist with restocking supplies. Communicate effectively with nursing staff regarding residents' dietary needs or preferences. Participate in training sessions to enhance knowledge of food safety and dietary practices. Experience Previous experience as a Dietary Aide or in a similar role within the food industry is preferred. Familiarity with meal preparation techniques, food production, and safe food handling practices is essential. Experience working in a nursing home or healthcare setting is advantageous but not mandatory. Strong teamwork skills, attention to detail, and the ability to follow instructions are critical for success in this role.
