Non-Exempt ________________________________________ Position Summary This job description is provided during orientation to outline the responsibilities and expectations of the Dietary Aide role. This position supports daily meal preparation, service, sanitation, and food safety while ensuring residents receive appealing, nutritious meals in compliance with regulations and company standards. ________________________________________ Essential Duties and Responsibilities Core duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Meal Preparation & Service Prepare and serve eye-pleasing, great-tasting meals according to posted menus and resident preferences. Assist with food prep for daily meals, weekends, and snacks. Practice portion control to minimize waste. Serve meals promptly and refill beverages as needed. Clear dishes between courses and reset dining areas for upcoming meals. Sanitation & Kitchen Maintenance Wash, sanitize, and properly store dishes, utensils, pots, and equipment. Clean kitchen and dining areas to established standards after each shift. Sweep or vacuum dining areas as needed. Maintain proper chemical use and dish machine temperatures. Food Safety & Inventory Label, date, and rotate food supplies properly. Track and document food and equipment temperatures. Report equipment concerns or maintenance needs promptly. Follow all health, safety, and sanitation regulations. Resident Satisfaction & Communication Respond to food quality or service concerns during shifts and relay feedback to Food Service Director. Support a welcoming, respectful dining atmosphere for residents and families. Compliance & Professional Standards Follow all company policies, procedures, and Employee Handbook guidelines. Maintain compliance with DHS 83 and DHS 89 regulations as applicable. Attend required meetings, trainings, and in-service programs. Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor. Arrive on time and prepared for scheduled shifts. General Responsibilities Respond appropriately to emergencies within scope of practice. Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership. ________________________________________ Supervisory Responsibilities This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
Requirements:
Qualifications Education and Experience High school diploma or GED required. Culinary training or food service experience preferred. Experience in senior living or healthcare dining environments preferred. Certificates, Licenses, and Training Food safety training preferred. CBRF certified training in First Aid/Choking, Fire Safety, and Standard Precautions training preferred. ________________________________________ Skills and Competencies Strong attention to cleanliness, safety, and quality. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Friendly, professional customer service skills. Teamwork and communication abilities. Basic food preparation and sanitation knowledge. ________________________________________ Schedule and Availability Flexible schedule including every other weekend and every other holiday. ________________________________________ Physical Demands The physical demands described below are representative of those required to perform the essential functions of this position.
