The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of nutrition, dietetics, and patient care, with proven leadership skills in managing dietary department. This role involves coordinating meal planning, supervising staff, and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards to promote optimal health outcomes for residents or patients. The Dietary Supervisor will play a vital role in fostering a supportive environment that emphasizes quality nutrition and personalized care. Duties Supervise and coordinate the daily operations of the dietary department, ensuring efficient meal preparation and service. Develop and implement individualized care plans that incorporate nutritional needs, medical conditions, and patient preferences. Conduct patient assessments to determine dietary requirements, including specialized needs such as tube feeding or diagnostic evaluations. Oversee menu planning to ensure balanced nutrition while accommodating dietary restrictions and cultural preferences. Manage dietary staff scheduling, training, and performance evaluations to maintain high standards of care. Ensure compliance with all health regulations, safety protocols, and sanitation standards within the dietary department. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to adjust care plans based on patient progress and evolving health conditions. Monitor budgeting processes for the dietary department, optimizing resource allocation without compromising quality of service. Experience Prior experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility or healthcare settings with a focus on nutrition management. Demonstrated supervisory experience leading dietary or nutrition teams in a fast-paced environment. Strong knowledge of physiology related to digestion, metabolism, and nutritional science. Practical experience in patient assessment, including evaluating nutritional status and implementing care plans. Familiarity with tube feeding procedures and diagnostic evaluation processes related to nutrition therapy. Proven ability to manage budgets effectively while maintaining high standards of service delivery. Background in dietetics or nutrition sciences, with relevant certifications preferred but not mandatory. Leadership skills demonstrated through team supervision, training initiatives, and quality improvement projects.
