In this vital role, you will assess individual nutritional needs, develop personalized care plans, and provide expert guidance to support recovery, health maintenance, and disease management. Your expertise will directly impact patient outcomes across various settings, including acute care, long-term care, and outpatient services. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your knowledge of dietetics and physiology in a dynamic environment that values innovation and compassionate care. Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to evaluate nutritional status, including diagnostic evaluations and physiological considerations. Develop and implement tailored nutrition care plans that address specific health conditions such as weight management, geriatrics, or chronic illnesses. Provide expert guidance on specialized nutrition interventions such as tube feeding, dietary modifications, and calorie/protein supplementation. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care strategies, ensuring seamless integration of nutrition services within overall treatment plans. Offer health coaching to empower patients with sustainable lifestyle changes related to nutrition, weight loss, and wellness goals. Supervise and mentor junior staff or interns within the dietary department, fostering a collaborative learning environment. Utilize electronic medical record (EMR) systems efficiently to document assessments, care plans, progress notes, and follow-up actions. Qualifications Registered Dietitian (RD) credential from an accredited program with current licensure or certification as required by state law. Proven experience in hospital or healthcare settings with a focus on acute care, geriatrics, or long-term care environments. Strong knowledge of physiology related to digestion, metabolism, and nutritional needs across different age groups. Hands-on experience with dietary management techniques including tube feeding and specialized dietary plans. Demonstrated ability in patient assessment, diagnostic evaluation, and developing effective nutrition interventions. Experience supervising staff or interns within a dietary department is highly desirable. Familiarity with EMR systems for documentation and care coordination purposes.
