Job description: Endura Healthcare (an Ensign affiliate) is seeking and experienced Registered Dietitian to work as a Food & Nutrition Resource to support our Colorado Skilled Nursing Facilities. This leadership position will partner directly with one other resource to help provide services to our Colorado facilities ( facility building split will be determined on hire ). The ideal candidate is a Registered Dietitian who is knowledgeable in clinical nutrition, food service operations, state and federal regulations, management, and budgeting. The Food & Nutrition Resource serves as a subject matter expert and mentor to Registered Dietitians & Dietary Managers.
Location:
Denver area and Southern/Western Colorado; this position requires travel throughout Colorado. This posting will remain open for a minimum of 3 days and until a candidate is selected. Qualifications/Requirements:
Registered Dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic Registration. Minimum of 3 years clinical experience in long-term care. Minimum of 2 years managing/supporting food service operations. Expert comprehensive knowledge of CMS and SNF regulatory standards. Extensive knowledge of foodservice operations. Excellent leadership, coaching, communication and interpersonal skills. Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Proficiency in Microsoft Office software programs. Duties:
Recruit, hire, train, and mentor Registered Dietitians and Dietary Managers Monitor dietitian's individual competency for regulatory compliance Perform assessments and coach team members as needed Monitor staffing and productivity to ensure adequate clinical coverage Ensure processes are followed and initiate performance improvements within trouble areas Create or maintain facility-specific menu cycles to meet individual patient nutritional needs per state and federal guidelines Complete clinical and sanitation survey readiness audits and develop a plan of correction Adheres to the human resource policies and procedures of the facility and company. Treats employees with fairness and respect. Participates in providing input for performance appraisals for clinical dietitians. Serves as a nutrition resource to other healthcare staff members and physicians. Interacts with other departments in problem solving, as related to nutrition and dining services. Conducts meal rounds and resident visitation on each visit. Demonstrates diplomacy and positive interpersonal skills in communications with staff, family members, residents, administration. Develops meaningful relationship with administrator, nursing director, therapy, and other leaders at all facilities. Accurately assesses and responds quickly to resident needs. Financial Results:
Reviews departmental hours and expenses to ensure adherence to standards and to identify variations that may need to be addressed with Dietary Manager. Trains staff on how to effectively monitor their own hours and expenses. Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with community vendors to secure fair market pricing and maximize value for residents and the organization. Operational Execution:
Assists in the establishment and monitoring of menu development, system development, and policy and procedures. Manages RD and DM coverage as needed. Training of nutrition care staff, which includes nutrition assessment, care planning, progress updates and medical record documentation. Responsible for clinical services and clinical outcomes conducted by any type of self, company, state, and/or federal audit. Serves as nutrition resource to other healthcare staff members, dietitians, and physicians. Interacts with other departments in problem solving, training and policy development activities as related to nutrition and dining services. May review systems for diet with the Dietary Director records, nourishments, supplements and nursing unit supplies. Assists in menu development, therapeutic extensions and adaptation to residents' needs. Participates in the development and presentation of nutrition and foodservice training for dietary leaders. May participate in special events, ordering, supervising of staff as assigned. Benefits:
