Responsibilities Conduct thorough patient assessments to evaluate nutritional status, medical history, and dietary needs using diagnostic evaluation techniques. Develop and implement individualized nutrition care plans tailored to each patient's health conditions, including weight management, tube feeding, and disease-specific interventions. Provide expert guidance on clinical nutrition topics such as physiology, dietetics principles, and specialized feeding methods like tube feeding. Offer health coaching to motivate patients toward healthier lifestyle choices, including weight loss and chronic disease management. Supervise and mentor junior staff or interns within the dietary department to ensure quality standards are maintained. Collaborate with healthcare teams to coordinate nutrition services in diverse settings such as hospitals or long-term care facilities. Utilize Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems efficiently for documentation, patient tracking, and care plan updates. Participate in patient education initiatives aimed at improving dietary habits and promoting overall wellness among diverse populations including geriatrics. Stay current with industry best practices related to acute care nutrition, dietary guidelines, and emerging research in dietetics. Skills Strong knowledge of physiology and clinical nutrition principles essential for accurate diagnosis and effective intervention planning. Proven experience supervising staff or interns within a dietary or healthcare setting. Expertise in managing tube feeding protocols and creating comprehensive care plans for complex medical conditions. Skilled in patient assessment techniques specific to long-term care, geriatrics, and acute hospital environments. Proficiency with EMR systems for documentation and communication within multidisciplinary teams. Excellent communication skills for health coaching, patient education, and team collaboration. Familiarity with diagnostic evaluation processes related to nutrition status and medical conditions affecting nutritional needs. Experience working in hospital or healthcare settings with a focus on weight loss programs or chronic disease management is highly desirable.
