TBD Position Summary :

The PWH Registered Dietitian will counsel and educate patients referred by the PWH Gestational Diabetes Program APRN's.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

The RD will assess patient knowledge to develop individual education and meal plans based on social, economic, cultural and age-appropriate influences. The RD will educate the patient on pathophysiology of diabetes in pregnancy, meal planning, glucose monitoring, pattern management of glucose levels, physical activity, and diabetes medication, working closely with the GDT APRN's and the maternal fetal medicine physicians to help patients maintain optimal glycemic control throughout their pregnancy. The RD will provide education on the usage of the Continuous Glucose Monitor and maintain practice based on current evidence-based standards The RD will document all patient care in the EMR in compliance with AADE certified program guidelines, and assist with the creation of RD policy documents and patient-facing educational documents.

Skills/qualifications:

Must have CDCES, Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist certification. 3-5 years of working experience as a Registered Dietician 3-5 years of experience working with Women's Health patients EMR/EHR experience is required Ability to remain self-motivated and work independently Excellent verbal and written communication skills Qualified candidates are encouraged to apply to learn more about all the position has to offer!
