A Nutritionist/Food Service Coordinator creates meal plans according to children's dietary restrictions and requirements. Main duties also include establishing short and long-term health goals with children. A Nutritionist/Food Service Coordinator is also responsible for maintenance, cleanliness, inventory and safety of kitchen. This position reports to the Center Director and the Executive Director. Key Responsibilities  Plan menus in accordance with nutritional guidelines and food restrictions.  Prepare, cook and deliver meals in each classroom.  Maintain hygiene and safety of kitchen in according with state licensing requirements.  Inform Center Director of depleted food and related supplies to ensure a well-stocked kitchen.  Follow all center policies and state regulations.  Maintain professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement.  Participate in weekly and monthly staff meetings. Educational Requirements  High School Diploma or GED  Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred Qualifications  1 - 2 years of professional experience in food service; preferably in child care or institutional setting.  Knowledge of CACFP  Basic math skills for measuring and portioning. KCU_Nutritionist/Food Service Coordinator_Job Description_1/24/2023 Page 2 of 3 Mandatory Requirements  Food Handler Certificate (DOH)  TB test and physical examinations  Drug and alcohol tests  First Aid/CPR  At least 21 clock hours of professional development trainings to be completed in 2 months from start of employment  Criminal background checks (fingerprinting and Child Protection Register Check)  Covid-19 Vaccinations Physical Requirements  Able to lift at least 50lbs.  Stand for long periods of time.  Move as the position requires.
Pay:
$18.00 - $22.00 per hour
