The individual assists in planning, developing, coordinating, and evaluating STOF's Nutrition program per Reservation. Provides nutrition and diet counseling, where medically indicated and/or as health and wellness promotion, to groups and individuals in clinics, homes, schools and community settings across all Seminole Tribe of Florida's reservations and designated venues. The incumbent designs, prepares and selects culturally appropriate exhibits, posters and literature for dissemination through various communication media. Reviews and revises existing materials. Develops lesson plans and assists or conducts nutrition education classes for Senior Center, all schools including Preschool, afterschool programs, camps and other community initiatives as assigned. Coordinates nutrition education services of patients with other health services and makes referrals as appropriate. Participates and procures food for Integrative Health sponsored activities, i.e.; Health Fairs, Fitness Activities, Diabetes Programming, Conferences, Community Events etc., as necessary.
Qualifications:
Bachelors' Degree in Nutrition from an accredited college or university is required. Commission on Dietetic Registration credential or CDR eligible and State of Florida Dietetic License or license pending is required. Demonstrate experience in public health and community nutrition concepts in pediatric, adult and geriatric populations. Demonstrate proficiency in all aspects of obesity, diabetes and chronic care nutrition management. Demonstrate knowledge of medical terminology. Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrate proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, and Outlook. Must possess a valid Florida Driver's License and be able to travel to all Seminole Reservations. The incumbent must be able to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
