Registered Dietitian 3.6 3.6 out of 5 stars Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Dietitian to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide expert nutritional care and counseling across diverse patient populations, including acute care, geriatrics, and long-term care settings. This role involves developing personalized care plans, conducting diagnostic evaluations, and collaborating with medical staff to optimize patient health outcomes. The Registered Dietitian will utilize their expertise in nutrition, physiology, and dietetics to support patients' recovery and long-term wellness. Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to determine nutritional needs and develop tailored care plans. Provide evidence-based nutrition counseling, including weight loss strategies and dietary modifications. Manage specialized nutrition interventions such as tube feeding and enteral/parenteral nutrition. Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans accordingly, ensuring optimal health outcomes. Collaborate with healthcare teams to coordinate nutritional support for patients with complex conditions such as acute illness or chronic diseases. Document assessments, interventions, and progress accurately within Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems. Supervise dietary department staff when applicable, ensuring compliance with hospital policies and standards. Educate patients and families on nutrition principles, health coaching techniques, and lifestyle modifications. Stay current with advances in dietetics, physiology, and healthcare regulations to maintain professional competency. Qualifications Current registration as a Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN). Proven experience in hospital settings, long-term care facilities, or dietary departments. Strong knowledge of physiology, nutrition science, and dietetics principles. Experience with diagnostic evaluation, care planning, and patient assessment. Familiarity with EMR systems for documentation and communication. Supervisory experience preferred, especially in managing dietary staff or student interns. Knowledge of specialized nutrition therapies such as tube feeding and parenteral nutrition. Experience working with diverse populations including geriatrics, patients requiring weight management or weight loss programs, and those in acute care settings. Excellent communication skills with the ability to provide health coaching effectively.
