Job Description

Summary of position: Under the supervision of the WIC Nutritionist, this position provides specific support services in the Illinois Women, Infant and Children (WIC) Program.
Essential Functions:
Collect and record client demographic, health history, anthropometric, hematologic and/or dietary data; the Registered Dietetic Technician may assess the nutrition status data to determine a client's risk condition(s) and priority. Counsel low risk clients (priorities II, IV, V, or VI) and refer high risk clients (priorities I and III) to CHP Select a standard food package to be issued to the low risk clients they counse Instruct clients on prescribed food packages and procedures for using Food Instruments Present group nutrition and breastfeeding educations sessions per policy Provide follow-up services for low risk clients, including telephone contacts
Qualifications:
Must be a graduate of an Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND) approved Dietetic Technician Program with an earned Associate's degree along with proof of current registration. It is strongly recommended that this candidate have experience or course work in maternal and child health, maternal and child nutrition, lactation, nutrition assessment and nutrition education. Experience with FQHC, a plus Bilingual, a plus Highly organized, self-starter Patience to perform daily functions Customer service skills good work ethic - team player
Pay:
$24.42 - $29.41 per hour
