Director of Dietary Services 2600 North Annie Glidden Road, DeKalb, IL 60115 From $35.09 an hour - Full-time From $35.09 an hour - Full-time About the role Lead our kitchen and bring your passion for nutrition to a team dedicated to resident well-being. As Director of Dietary Services, you will plan and oversee every aspect of our food service operation - from menus and clinical nutrition to staffing, budgets, and regulatory compliance. What you'll do Develop and manage department policies covering menu planning, food production, purchasing, sanitation, and staffing Supervise Assistant Food Service Directors and all dietary personnel Collaborate with our Consultant Dietitian to implement physician-ordered and special-diet nutritional plans Conduct nutritional assessments and gather dietary data on residents Own the dietary budget, meal cost analysis, and kitchen equipment management Lead the department quality assurance program to ensure consistent, cost-effective service Maintain full compliance with federal, state, and local food service regulations Serve as database manager for all dietary computer programs What you'll bring Certification Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) credential required, or active eligibility to complete the program Experience 3-5 years in food service within a long-term care setting, including menu planning, food purchasing, and modified diets Education Bachelor's degree in dietetics, food service management, or a related field desired; equivalent experience considered Clinical skills Knowledge of nutritional assessments, anthropometric measurements, and clinical nutritional care in long-term care Compliance Working knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations governing institutional food service safety and sanitation CPR certified Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification required prior to start
