POSITION
Full time Certifying Health Professional in
WIC Supplemental Nutrition Program SALARY:

REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor of Science in Nutrition or Dietetics; OR Registered professional nurse licensed pursuant to Section 12 of the Illinois Nursing Act of 1987 (Il. Rev. Stat. 1989, Ch. 111, par. 3512) with experience in health and nutrition education. Knowledge and data entry efficiency with computers desired. Current Illinois driver's license: personal vehicle for use in carrying out required duties; auto liability insurance is mandatory. Requires vision adequate to read and analyze written and printed documents. Requires hearing and speech skills adequate to answer telephone calls and to communicate with clients and staff. Requires manual dexterity to perform physical assessments. Requires ability to follow verbal and written directions. Requires ability to perform computer data entry and retrieval. Demonstrates ability to lift and transport a thirty-pound weight. Must be able to navigate stairs. Requires ability to respect and adapt readily to a variety of client/staff situations with maturity and emotional stability.
DUTIES:
Provides nutritional assessment and certification activities Provides individual and group education to clients to improve health/diet behaviors Performs case management functions to assess for social, medical, and/or financial service needs Develops new ideas and outlines for nutritional education Serves as nutritional resource for other health department programs Performs appropriate emergency response duties as required. Performs other duties as assigned.
