reviews From $26.99 an hour - Full-time Under the supervision of the WIC Lead CPA and Regional Manager, the Competent Professional Authority (CPA) is responsible for delivering nutrition education and breastfeeding support to WIC participants. The CPA determines nutritional risk, creates individualized food packages, and ensures that each client's needs are met according to federal, state, and agency policies. This position provides client-centered care that promotes nutrition, breastfeeding, and family well-being.MAJOR DUTIES
Complete nutrition and breastfeeding assessments and identify follow-up needs. Provide culturally sensitive, client-centered nutrition education and counseling. Promote breastfeeding as the recommended method of infant feeding and provide support within scope of practice. Develop individualized food prescriptions in the Indiana WIC Management Information System (INWIC MIS). Document nutrition education, assessments, anthropometrics, and referrals inINWIC MIS.
Provide education on WIC services, eWIC cards, approved foods, and the INWIC mobile app. Offer appropriate referrals to health and social services including Medicaid and substance use treatment programs. Protect client confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA and WIC regulations. Maintain accurate and timely documentation. Lead approved group education sessions. Participate in outreach efforts including community events and Farmers' Markets. Support infection prevention protocols and a welcoming clinic environment. Attend all required state and agency trainings, meetings, and continuing education. Perform clerical and support tasks as needed to maintain clinic operations. Work performed in a fast-paced clinic setting with direct public interaction Regular standing, walking, and interaction with children and caregivers Occasional lifting of infants/children and up to 20 pounds of equipment or materials Repetitive motion from standard office tasks Occasional travel to community events or conferences may be required Must have a valid driver's license and insured vehicleMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must meet Indiana WIC Program requirements to serve as aCPA:
Required Education:
One of the following: Registered Dietitian or registration-eligible Bachelor's or Master's degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or Nutrition Sciences Licensed Registered Nurse Graduate of a bachelor's or master's program in a health-related field with at least 9 credit hours in nutrition (must include: 3 hours in introductory nutrition, 3 in lifecycle or maternal/infant nutrition, and 3 in advanced nutrition) Completion of the CPA training program within 12 months of hire (if not already credentialed) Experience in maternal and child health or public health preferred As a multi-purpose agency, CoAction provides a holistic, integrated impact.
