Coordinates care with interdisciplinary teams, transplant teams, geneticists, genetic counselors and metabolic clinics when needed. Works closely with laboratory to facilitate timely or expedited biochemistry results. Supports medical insurance coverage verification for medical foods, formula, supplements, and medications required for management of inborn error of metabolism or other complex medical conditions. Completes nutrition-focused physical assessments, reviews medical records, collects data via interviews, and evaluates anthropometric status. Evaluates assessment data to identify nutrition risks, problems, malnutrition criteria, knowledge deficits, and high-risk health behaviors. Offers nutrition interventions, orders, education, counseling, and referrals to other services. May place feeding tubes or perform indirect calorimetry studies. Provides counseling and education using evidence-based techniques that reflect appropriate health literacy and cultural sensitivity to patients with disease processes requiring nutritional management. Monitors and evaluates nutrition care plans to reach nutrition goals and promote optimal outcomes. Provides supervised practice experience to dietetic interns, dietetic technicians, registration eligible dietitians and new employees, participates in research, performance improvement and initiatives. Remains abreast of emerging research applications and evidence-based guidelines, and participates in research, performance improvement, and initiatives. Enters complete, accurate, and timely electronic health record documentation. Enters nutrition orders when authorized by Medical Staff policy and procedure to reflect patient care. Offers timely responses to internal electronic communication. Participates in patient care rounds and collaborates with physicians, nurses, and other allied health professionals to create nutrition plans of care. Promotes evidence-based nutrition care and provides expertise to foodservice areas. Other duties as assigned.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and have good comprehension of conversational English [Required]
- Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office [Required]

- Master's [Required]
Field of Study:

- 4+ experience [Required]

- Certified Nutrition Support Clinician (CNSC) [Required] OR Board Certified Specialist in Pediatric Critical Care Nutrition (CSPCC) [Required] OR Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) [Required] OR Certified Specialist in Gerontological Nutrition (CSG) [Required] OR Board Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics (CSSD) [Required] OR Board Certified Specialist in Obesity and Weight Management (CSOWM) [Required]
