This role is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and monitoring nutrition care plans for pediatric patients across various age groups and developmental stages. The ideal candidate is clinically strong, family-focused, collaborative with providers, and comfortable educating both patients and caregivers on nutritional health and wellness. The Registered Dietitian will work closely with physicians, nursing staff, therapists, and families to support healthy growth, disease management, feeding development, and overall pediatric wellness. Essential Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive pediatric nutritional assessments, including growth trends, dietary intake, medical history, and developmental considerations Develop individualized nutrition care plans based on physician referrals, diagnoses, and patient-specific needs Provide nutrition counseling and education to pediatric patients, parents, and caregivers Monitor patient progress and adjust nutrition interventions as needed Collaborate with pediatricians, nursing staff, behavioral health providers, and specialty care teams regarding patient care plans Support patients with chronic conditions including obesity, diabetes, GI disorders, food allergies, feeding difficulties, and failure to thrive Review and interpret laboratory values, growth charts, and clinical documentation related to nutrition status Maintain accurate and timely charting within the electronic medical record (EMR) system Participate in interdisciplinary case discussions and patient care coordination Educate families on age-appropriate nutrition, meal planning, supplementation, and healthy lifestyle habits Stay current on pediatric nutrition guidelines, evidence-based practices, and regulatory standards Assist with development of educational materials, wellness initiatives, and community outreach programs as needed Ensure compliance with HIPAA, clinical documentation standards, and applicable healthcare regulations Required Skills & Competencies Strong knowledge of pediatric nutrition principles, growth and development, and age-specific dietary needs Ability to communicate effectively and compassionately with children, parents, and caregivers Excellent patient education and counseling skills Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking abilities Ability to interpret growth charts, lab data, and nutrition-related clinical indicators Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple patient cases efficiently Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare environment Proficiency with EMR systems and clinical documentation Strong attention to detail and follow-through Ability to maintain professionalism and composure in fast-paced clinical settings Knowledge of food allergies, feeding disorders, and chronic pediatric health conditions preferred Bilingual communication skills are a plus Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, Clinical Nutrition, or related field required Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) credential required Current state licensure/certification as applicable 1-3+ years of pediatric clinical nutrition experience preferred Experience within a pediatric office, hospital, outpatient clinic, or specialty practice preferred Current CPR/BLS certification preferred Schedule & Work Environment Full-time, on-site position Monday through Friday schedule (hours may vary based on clinic operations) Pediatric clinical environment with direct patient interaction daily Physical Requirements Ability to sit, stand, walk, and move throughout the clinic throughout the workday Ability to occasionally lift educational materials, supplies, or equipment up to 15-20 pounds Ability to communicate effectively in both individual and group settings
