The successful candidate will provide comprehensive nutritional care, develop personalized care plans, and support patient health outcomes across various clinical settings. This role is vital in promoting optimal nutrition, managing dietary needs, and enhancing overall patient well-being. The ideal applicant will possess strong expertise in dietetics, physiology, and patient assessment, with a focus on delivering high-quality nutritional services in diverse healthcare environments. Duties Conduct thorough patient assessments to evaluate nutritional status and identify dietary needs. Develop, implement, and monitor individualized care plans tailored to specific health conditions such as geriatrics, acute care, or long-term care. Provide specialized nutrition counseling, including weight management, weight loss strategies, and dietary modifications. Manage tube feeding procedures and ensure proper nutritional delivery for patients requiring enteral nutrition. Collaborate with medical teams to interpret diagnostic evaluations and adjust nutrition interventions accordingly. Supervise dietary staff and oversee dietary department operations to ensure compliance with standards and protocols. Utilize electronic medical record (EMR) systems to document assessments, care plans, and progress notes accurately. Educate patients and their families on nutrition principles, health coaching techniques, and lifestyle modifications. Ensure adherence to hospital policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements related to nutrition services. Stay current with advancements in dietetics, physiology knowledge, and best practices in hospital and long-term care settings. Requirements Bachelor's degree or higher in Dietetics, Nutrition, or a related field; registration with a recognized dietetic registration board is required. Proven experience in hospital settings with a focus on acute care, geriatrics, or long-term care environments. Demonstrated supervising experience within a dietary department or clinical team. Strong knowledge of physiology as it relates to nutrition and health conditions. Proficiency in using EMR systems for documentation and patient management. Experience with tube feeding protocols and managing complex nutritional cases. Familiarity with diagnostic evaluation processes relevant to nutritional assessment. Excellent patient assessment skills combined with effective health coaching abilities. Knowledge of dietary considerations for weight loss and chronic disease management. Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary healthcare teams in diverse settings.
