Job Description

Villa at Beecher Place is seeking a Registered Dietician to join their team! The Registered Dietician is responsible for providing nutritional meals per patients\resident care plan, including planning patient meals, providing direction for nutritional therapy, and documenting patient intake. Registered Dietician Duties and Responsibilities:
Understands and follows nutritional requirements for population, as learned in formal educational training. Provides diet instruction and counseling to residents and their families. Monitors weight changes and determines appropriate interventions for those determined to be at nutrition risk. Holds regular Nutrition at Risk meetings with the resident's care team for collaborative plan of care. Supports the kitchen in menu development and approving appropriate menu substitutions as needed. Follows resident assessment, care plan, and charting requirements. Plans patient meals and completes required paperwork/updates computer systems to communicate plans to other staff. Monitors sanitation compliance and completes monthly dining services checklist. Properly stores and handles food, maintains temperature and temperature logs. Ensures kitchen safety and disaster preparedness. Analyzes patient data to determine patient needs or treatment goals. All other duties, as assigned.
Registered Dietician Skills and Abilities:
Strong verbal and written communication skills, including understanding of dietary terms. Keeps current in clinical nutrition and dietetics, food system management, and state and federal regulations. Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English. Able to listen to patients/residents with active listening. Strong organizational skills. Demonstrates basic computer knowledge and ability with an aptitude to learn company applications; proficiency with
Microsoft Office Suite Registered Dietician Education and Experience:
Associate's degree in dietetics or nutrition required. Completion of a dietetic technician program approved by the Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education (CADE) of the ADA. Experience in industrial food production preferred. Prior experience working in a long-term care facility a plus.
Physical Requirements:
Walking, reaching, bending, lifting, extended sitting, grasping, fine hand coordination, pushing and pulling, ability to distinguish smells and temperatures, all with or without the aid of mechanical devices is required. Limited potential for exposure to environmental hazards. Understanding and adherence to company safety standards and protocols required.
