CLINICAL DIETITIAN
to join our
FOOD AND NUTRITION SERVICES
team! Provides medical nutrition therapy services to patients and/or families. The registered dietitian (RDN) will complete the Nutrition Care Process for each patient with a nutrition consult. The registered dietitian will also provide services including assessment of nutritional status, nutrition care planning, counseling, and evaluation in the outpatient spheres. In addition to outpatient services, the RDN is the DSMES (Diabetes Self-Management, Education and Support) program coordinator for the hospital and clinic. Collaborates with Food and Nutrition Services through the Dietary Manager and provides nutrition and food service expertise. Also provides staff, community, and outreach nutrition education
HOURS:
Full Time; 1.0 FTE or 72 hours per pay period. Experience/Qualifications Knowledge of nutrition standards and practices normally acquired through the completion of a Bachelor or Master of Science degree in dietetics. Registered Dietitian by the Commission of Dietetic Registration (CDR); or registry eligible status, with successful completion of the registration exam within 1 year. Member of AND recommended. Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist encouraged. Recent hospital-based experience in clinical nutrition is necessary to enhance and develop skills, with one year of experience in clinical nutrition beneficial. A minimum of one year of experience in care of people with Diabetes beneficial. Possesses active Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) license. Wellness program for employees and their families. Aspirus Iron River Hospital & Clinics is one of three hospitals in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan in the Aspirus family. With 300+ employees, Aspirus Iron River Hospital and Clinics serves people through a 25-bed hospital, physician clinics, dialysis center, rehab fitness center, ambulance service, and home care and hospice. The outpatient part of this practice is located in a stand-alone clinic. This allows the provider to work independently yet have the specialist support and financial security from the entire Aspirus health care system. The critical access hospital has an average daily census of 9-10 patients. The hospital and clinics provide numerous services and has up to date technology, including 64 slice CT and a mobile MRI. The medical staff includes family practitioners, internal medicine, general surgeons, orthopedic surgeons, radiologist, emergency medicine physicians, Nurse Practitioners, and Physician Assistants. Visiting medical staff includes ophthalmologist, oncologist, cardiologist, ENT, podiatrist, and nephrologist.
