In this rewarding role, you will empower families through nutrition education, breastfeeding support, health assessments, and access to critical resources that improve health outcomes for women, infants, and children throughout our community. What You'll Do As a WIC CPA, you will play a vital role in helping participants achieve healthier lives by: Nutrition Assessment & Counseling Conduct nutrition assessments using anthropometric and hematological data. Evaluate health, dietary, and breastfeeding histories to determine nutritional risk and eligibility. Provide client-centered nutrition education and counseling tailored to individual needs. Develop nutrition education plans that support participant goals and concerns. WIC Certification & Benefits Determine WIC eligibility according to federal, state, and local guidelines. Document certifications and participant records accurately and thoroughly. Prescribe WIC food packages and process formula requests in accordance with program requirements. Coordinate approvals for specialized food packages and qualifying conditions. Referrals & Care Coordination Connect participants with nutrition, breastfeeding, healthcare, public assistance, and community resources. Identify high-risk participants and refer them to a Registered Dietitian for advanced nutrition care planning. Provide follow-up care and documentation as assigned. Program Support & Quality Improvement Perform anthropometric measurements and laboratory functions as needed. Assist with staff training, consultation, and program development. Participate in quality improvement initiatives. Help develop and maintain local agency policies and procedures. Attend professional development opportunities, conferences, and workshops. QualificationsRequired Credentials Candidates must possess one of the following credentials : Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) Nutritionist (Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nutritional Sciences, Community Nutrition, Clinical Nutrition, Dietetics, or Public Health Nutrition) Registered Nurse (RN) Dietetic Technician, Registered (DTR) Physician Physician Assistant (PA-C) Home Economist with a Bachelor's degree emphasizing nutrition Preferred Experience Minimum of one year of experience providing community health, pediatric, maternal, infant, or nutrition services. Previous WIC experience is a plus. What We're Looking For Successful candidates will demonstrate: Passion for improving maternal and child health outcomes Strong nutrition education and counseling skills Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities Ability to work effectively with culturally diverse populations Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism Proficiency with computer systems and Windows-based software Ability to work independently and collaboratively Understanding of age-specific care principles Certifications Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or ability to obtain upon hire.
