Responsibilities Instruct patients, residents and their families on nutrition, dietary plans, food selection and preparation. Work with community wellness department to promote wellness to the community and to employees by assisting with and offering classes to the public and staff for dietary needs and health. Work closely with diabetes educator to provide diabetes education to our community. Work closely with the Nutritional Services Department to communicate and ensure adequate nutrition for patients and residents in accordance with recommended federal, state, and organizational guidelines. Participate in department discussions, in-service training, workshops, seminars, etc., or training sponsored by the organization. Consult others at the request of the hospital and implement by the agreement of the RD. Perform other job-related duties as assigned/required.
