DISTRICT HEALTH DEPARTMENT NO. 2
Registered Dietitian Position Type:
Full-Time | Non-Exempt |AFSCME Location:
Onsite | TBD (Harrisville, Tawas, Mio, or West Branch),Michigan Pay Rate:

- Conduct nutrition screenings and comprehensive assessments; collaborate with clients to establish individualized goals
- Develop and implement evidence-based nutrition care plans and interventions
- Provide individualized nutrition counseling for pregnant and lactating women, infants, children, and high-risk populations
- Deliver nutrition education and resources to clients, staff, and community members
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in compliance with WIC and agency requirements
- Manage patient records within electronic health systems while maintaining strict confidentiality (HIPAA compliance)
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and community partners
- Participate in outreach, training, and professional development activities
- Travel within the service area as needed
What We're Looking For Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Dietetics or related field
- Current Registered Dietitian (RD) credential required
- Knowledge of nutrition science and current dietary guidelines
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general computer systems
- Reliable transportation; and valid Michigan driver's license and proof of insurance (if driving for work)
Preferred:
- One (1) year of practical experience working with children aged 0-5, diverse populations and/or public health Work Environment & Physical Requirements This position primarily works in clinic and office settings, with travel to community locations.
Responsibilities may include:
- Standing, bending, and moving throughout clinic or home environments
- Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds
- Exposure to bloodborne pathogens (Category A) with full OSHA-compliant protections in place
